2024 Resiliency Upgrades

Northfork Electric Cooperative will strategically upgrade overhead lines with greater insulated conductors, denser pole spacing, and larger conductor spacings. These steps will eliminate or greatly reduce the likelihood of wildfire ignition and improve resilience during heavy icing events. The improved resilience will ensure service to critical infrastructure including municipality water supply systems and natural gas plants and pipeline compressors.
