NFEC awards area fire departments
We’re proud of our first responders here at Northfork Electric Cooperative. We’re not only talking about our linemen who charge into storms to restore lost power, we appreciate another special group of people who make our communities better by providing critical emergency services—our volunteer firefighters.
In October, representatives from all Beckham and Roger Mills County Fire Departments each received $500 donations from NFEC. October is National Coop Month, when we celebrate the many ways coops serve our communities, in addition to providing safe and reliable electricity. Following the Cooperative Principal of Concern for Community, NFEC makes the contribution annually to the fire departments in their service area.
“We’re committed to supporting our local volunteer fire departments because they play an invaluable role in protecting lives and property as well as provide a lifeline for our rural communities,” said NFEC’s Chris Barton.
