Luke Hawkins and Maridian Bales receive Youth Tour Scholarships at NFEC

High School juniors Luke Hawkins from Reydon High School and Maridian Bales from Sayre High School were selected as Northfork Electric’s 2021 Youth Tour Scholarship winners.  Each were presented with a $2,000 scholarship on Monday, April 5 at NFEC. 

NFEC’s Youth Tour Scholarship recipients were selected by a panel of judges based on their essays and video submissions, including interviews.  Additional finalists in this year’s competition were Lathan Grabeal from Hammon High School and Derah Thomas from Reydon High School who each attended the Leadership Summit and received $500 scholarships on March 15.

Thank you to all of the students, teachers and schools who participated in this year’s contest, making it such a success.  “We are excited to have these students as our scholarship winners this year,” said NFEC Youth Services Coordinator Connie Ferrero.  “The students represented themselves and their schools well throughout the contest and we thoroughly enjoyed hosting them at the co-op.”
